*Triangle Fused Glass Pendant in Earth Tones on Silver Chain - Pebble Technique
This statement piece is a kiln-formed, reactive pebble, one-of-a-kind (OOAK), fused glass pendant. The layers in this piece catch the light creating depth. The fusing reactions look like an underwater scene with the colors green, white, amber and brown reaction lines. Delicate bubbles complete the effect and add to this wearable piece of art. This large pendant looks great on an 18" chain or a longer 22" chain.
This process is the pebble technique. This pendant created in a multi-step process. To begin, I cut up clear glass into tiles. Then I layer each tile with glass powder and glass frit. I fire the tile in the kiln at a high temperature. After the tile comes out of the kiln the next day, I cut it up and mix it up with other tiles I have created. I refire these tiles and the result is a "puddle" of glass. I review each "puddle" and I outline the pendant shape in the glass, cut it with a wet saw and then take it through 5 steps of polishing. Then the pendant goes back into the kiln for a final polish. The whole process takes about 50 hours to complete. Because the colors and reactions vary, each pendant is a one-of-a-kind piece.
I hope you enjoy the pendant as much as I enjoy the process.
